Fiber Optics
A way of transmitting data from one point to another through electromagnetic pulses that travel long distances through a strand of transparent glass or plastic.
Fiber optic connection
A transmission medium consisting of a very thin strand of transparent material through which light pulses representing the data are sent.
Advantages
It takes up little space due to its small size, yet it is flexible, which makes installation easier. It is lightweight: it weighs eight times less than a conventional cable.
